How it works
Everything is converted through the litre. US and UK units differ: a US gallon is exactly 3.785411784 L while a UK (imperial) gallon is 4.54609 L; a US pint is 473 mL and a UK pint 568 mL.
Cooking cups and spoons here are US customary measures (cup = 236.6 mL, tablespoon = 14.8 mL, teaspoon = 4.93 mL).
