How it works
JPG doesn't support transparency, so transparent pixels are placed on a white background before encoding. Quality 85–92 gives an excellent balance for photos; for screenshots with text, use 90+ to keep text crisp.
For PNGs with sharp graphics and few colours (logos, icons), JPG can create visible artifacts around edges; WebP or keeping PNG is often better.
