Passport & ID Photo Maker

Make a passport, visa or ID photo from a picture you already have. Choose the size, drag and zoom until the head sits in the guide, then download the single photo and a sheet with several copies, ready to print at home or at a photo shop. Your picture never leaves your device.

How to use

  1. Drop a photo of the person, facing the camera.
  2. Choose the photo size, then drag and zoom so the head fits the guide.
  3. Pick the print sheet and the number of copies.
  4. Download the PDF sheet (print at 100%) or the single JPG.

How it works

The photo is cropped to the exact size you choose and saved at 300 dpi, the usual resolution for printed photos: a 35 × 45 mm photo becomes 413 × 531 pixels. You move and zoom the picture inside a fixed frame, and you can straighten a tilted photo by a few degrees. Anything the picture does not cover is filled with white.

For common sizes the guide shows two ovals: the head, from the top of the hair to the chin, should fit between them. Those ranges are the ones usually asked for with each size, but offices differ and rules change, so check the requirements of the office that will receive the photo. The guide is only a help for framing and is never drawn on the result.

The print sheet is a PDF at the exact size of the paper, with as many copies as fit, spaced for cutting and with a faint line in each gap. Print it at 100% or actual size, without Fit to page, on photo paper, so the photos keep their real dimensions. Measure one printed photo against the size you chose before cutting the rest.

This tool crops and resizes: it does not change the face, the lighting, the expression or the background. Most offices want a plain light background, a neutral expression and no shadows on the face, so take the original photo in even daylight in front of a plain wall. To replace a busy background first, use Remove Background, then bring the result here.

Everything runs in your browser with the Canvas and pdf-lib libraries, and the picture is never uploaded.

Examples

Passport photo at home
Take a photo against a plain wall, choose 35 × 45 mm, centre the face in the guide and print the 10 × 15 cm sheet at a photo shop or at home.
Photo for an online application
Download the single JPG at 300 dpi and upload it to the portal, after checking the size and file-size limits it asks for.

Common uses

  • Passport photos for adults and children
  • Photos for visa and residence applications
  • ID card, driving licence and student card photos
  • Printing several copies on one sheet instead of paying per print

Frequently asked questions

Will my photo be accepted?

The tool gives you the right size and framing, but acceptance depends on the office: background, lighting, expression, glasses and the age of the photo are checked too. Read the official requirements for your document before printing.

Which size should I choose?

It depends on the country and the document. 35 × 45 mm is common in Europe and the UK, and 2 × 2 inches (51 × 51 mm) is used for the United States. Always confirm on the official website. You can also type a custom size in millimetres.

Does it remove the background?

No. It crops and resizes only. If the background is not plain and light, use Remove Image Background first, then open the result here.

How do I print the sheet?

Open the PDF and print it at 100% or actual size, never Fit to page, ideally on photo paper. You can also put the PDF on a USB stick or send it to a print shop. Measure one photo before cutting.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The photo is processed in your browser and nothing is sent or stored.

What resolution is the result?

300 dpi at the size you chose. For a 35 × 45 mm photo that is 413 × 531 pixels, which suits printing and most online forms. If a form asks for a different file size, use Compress Image or Resize Image in KB afterwards.
