How to use
- Drop the protected PDF.
- Type its password (leave empty if it opens without one and only restricts printing or copying).
- Click Unlock PDF.
- Download the unlocked copy.
How it works
The tool runs qpdf, an open-source PDF library, compiled to WebAssembly so it works in your browser. With the correct password it decrypts the file and writes a normal copy with the same pages, text, images and fonts — nothing is re-compressed.
This tool does not guess or crack passwords. If you don't know the password to open a file, it cannot help, by design.
Some PDFs open without a password but forbid printing or copying. Those restrictions are removed as well. Only do this for documents you own or have permission to use.
