How it works
A sentence ends with a full stop, question mark, exclamation mark or ellipsis followed by a space or the end of the text. Common abbreviations such as “Dr.”, “Mr.”, “e.g.” and “etc.” are not treated as sentence endings. Chinese and Japanese full stops (。！？) are also recognised.
Paragraphs are blocks of text separated by at least one empty line.

Does a line without a full stop count as a sentence?
Yes — text after the last terminal punctuation mark counts as a sentence, so headings and bullet points each count as one.
Are decimals like 3.5 counted as sentence ends?
No. A full stop only ends a sentence when it is followed by a space or the end of the text.
